About this place

This is our family's home in the Catskills — a 3-bedroom house on a quiet patch of land we call The Ranch. We use it ourselves on holidays and during ski season. We'd love to open it up and share it with our Brooklyn neighbors when we're not using it.

So, we're opening it up at community rates. Our aim is to keep it simple and less pricey than comparable rentals in the area (when compared to Airbnb).

A week here is meant to feel like staying at a friend's place. The kitchen is stocked; the medicine cabinets have medicine and first-aid stuff; there are loads of board games; the road is quiet. We hope you can enjoy our “home away from home”; just pack your clothes and come.

How it works

How to book. Pick an open week on the calendar (Thursday-to-Thursday weeks only — no partial stays). Fill out the form, agree to the rental agreement, and you've got a 24-hour hold. Within that 24 hours, send the full total via Venmo: weekly rate ($525–$750 depending on season) + $225 cleaning fee + 10% NY tax + a $500 refundable security deposit. Once we see the payment, we send the confirmation and the door code.

A few things to know. Stay 4 weeks or more in a row and the weekly rate drops by 10% — plus you still pay just one cleaning fee for the whole stay. A few weeks each year are tentatively held for family use (Thanksgiving + the Christmas-through-early-April stretch). If a week's booked or family-held, drop your email on the calendar's waitlist and we'll let you know the moment something opens — first to pay wins.

Cancellation. Full refund if you cancel 30+ days before check-in. 50% of the weekly rate refunded 14–29 days out. Inside 14 days the weekly rate is non-refundable — but the cleaning fee and deposit are always refundable. Full details in the rental agreement at booking.
